And the Rithian, aka "Rithian Corrupter", was one of the first. For this crude weapon predates even the first of colonial laser guns, a time when politics and piracy went hand-in -hand. The Rithian, like all early ray guns, doesn't have the range of the more developed laser guns, but still spills out a wider beam at close quarters, giving it a deadly first strike.
